Safe selling during COVID-19

How to sell you caravan or motorhome remotely

While the current situation in Australia is continually evolving, we have many options available to help you safely continue your selling journey, and importantly digitally connect with buyers.

The health and wellbeing of our sellers is important to us and to help you during this time, we have compiled some tips on how to stay safe and practice social distancing while your car, bike, boat or caravan changes hands.

For more information on COVID-19 and advice on social distancing practices, we encourage you to visit https://www.health.gov.au/

1. Wash your hands

Before meeting prospective buyers, wash your hands for 20 seconds with soap or use an alcohol-based sanitizer

2. Clean your caravan

Give your caravan a thorough clean with an alcohol-based disinfectant or wipes before driving

3. Consider a video inspection

Think about an initial inspection or walk-through via video instead of a physical meet up – WhatsApp or FaceTime can help!

4. Arrange a contactless meet-up

Choose a safe, neutral, open space such as an empty car park of petrol station and maintain a 1.5m distance at all times.

5. Take extra precautions after a test drive

Bring sanitising items with you to clean your caravan following a test drive – target touchpoints such as the key fob, steering wheel, transmission shifter, door handles and other places you’d normally touch such as the volume knob or heating controls. Don’t forget the indicator and wiper stalks!

6. Act with care

If you or someone in your household is feeling unwell, do not arrange any meetings with potential buyers and stay at home until you have fully recovered.

Remember to protect yourself online: As always, it’s important to be cautious when transacting online. Before giving out your personal identification or banking information, be sure that the buyer and/or website is legitimate. Visit our safety hub for more information and scams to look out for.
