Changes to Account & Contact details

We're making some updates to improve the trust and safety for buyers and sellers on our sites. As part of this there will be some changes to how we handle ad creation and management.

Verifying primary phone number on Private ads

We'll be verifying your phone number and securely saving it to your member profile, adding an extra layer of security and trust to our platform.

For both new and existing ads we will be displaying either a verified or unverified badge on your ad.

If you are verified already, you do not need to action anything. If you are unverified you can go into the private ad and verify you phone number.

Please note if you update and verify the number on your private ad this will be update on your member profile. Likewise, if you update the number on your member profile this will be reflected on all private ads.

Alternative phone number

We're making an update to streamline our ad creation and management process. As part of this change, we will be removing the option to provide an alternate phone number.  Alternate phone numbers are not a commonly used field, and removing this will simplify the ad details form.

What does this mean for you?

From the 1st of May, for both new ads created and existing ads, you'll no longer see the alternative phone number field or checkbox.  Instead, there will be alternate options to choose from such as:

  • Receiving enquiries via email
  • Displaying your primary phone number

If you had an alternative number listed as your preferred means of contact, please update your preferences accordingly if you wish to continue to receive calls.
