A question many sellers often ask us is 'Do I need a roadworthy certificate to sell my motorhome?'
The laws do vary from state to state and you should always contact the road transport authority in your state or territory for further details of any roadworthy requirements.
However, from what research we have done, the followings seems to apply:
- QLD & VIC
You will require a roadworthy certificate to sell your vehicle. - ACT
You will need a roadworthy to sell if your motorhome is over 6 years old. - ALL OTHER STATES
You won’t need a roadworthy certificate to sell your motorhome in other states and territories.
However there are circumstances when roadworthy certificates are required such as when a vehicle is registered in another state or based on the age or condition of your vehicle.
